The Long and Short Of Cheap Beach Chairs
Categorized: Folding Beach Chairs | No comments
Teens, college students and young married couples with limited funds are all familiar with the summer ritual of purchasing cheap beach chairs to take to the lake or down to Galveston for a day of water, sun and fun. For as little as twenty dollars you can buy a couple of folding chairs that will probably last most if not all of the summer season. Some companies even give them out for free as marketing promotion items, as you will be advertising their logo and or products to masses as they walk by your chairs on that days outdoor activities. The word cheap may not always be a bad thing, especially if you can find a well built set at an estate or garage sale that originally cost fifty or sixty dollars each, but can be had by you for a few dollars.
The cheap beach chair is only second in popularity for the hot months of the year to cheap sunglasses. They should actually market them together to save time when trying to get to the lakefront before the sun gets behind the clouds for the afternoon. Always keep your eyes open for clearance deals on moderately priced beach chairs that are on sale at the end of the season, so they can make room for blow up yard Santa’s and fake Christmas trees. Timing is what makes them cheap, as when a retailer is desperate to clear valuable floor inventory space, the will throw the baby out with the bath water to clear the aisles for seasonal items. Their loss is your gain, and saving fifty or seventy percent on a fifty dollar folding lounge chair is definitely a check in the gains column for you.
The all famous but abused by all cheap folding beach chairs normally sit in the sun all year long during the non beach days on apartment dwellers balconies, being weakened by constant exposure to the sun, rain, snow, ice, etc.. If you want them to last more than a few months then put them in the balconies utility closet next to the stackable washer and dryer, and they will last longer when protected. You may want to purchase some inexpensive lounge chair storage bags, to keep dust, mildew, and dirt off of them so they are in ready to go condition when you want to use them. The cheap nylon bags are just a few dollars at Wally World or your favorite price-slashing store. Some chairs come with the bags, and the cost of the bag is absorbed into the cost of the chair, as to keep the prices low on the chair.
Sidle up to any resale shop in your neighborhood during the winter months and you will find the discarded luxury beach chairs that the upper middle class have used for the last time, and will buy new expensive chairs the next start of the summer season. Cheap beach lounge chairs do not have to be new to be cheap, and there are many sources online to find even brand new chairs that once went for close to a hundred dollars each. They have been sold at auction for pennies on the dollar to scavenger companies that sell them for a few cents above what they paid for them. Therefore, the next time you go into a store and buy a new cheap beach type chair, think of the alternate places that will give you most beach blanket bang for your buck instead of buying something that will hardly last for three months time. The last caveat of the ultra inexpensive chair is when it comes crashing down with a person sitting in it, as it is too heavy and exceeds the maximum specified weight restrictions, which may be on the low side to begin with.
The long and short of it is that you can find some styles which are comfy chairs and they don’t have to cost an arm, a leg, or both.
